Your post filled me with WONDER….your processing of grief, abiding love for your mother and finding ways to connect with her essence. Then the connections that made with other women experiencing the same emotions! Amazing…

Thank you so much Sandra. Connecting with the women experiencing the same thing has been such a rich and positive experience for me.

I stumbled upon this post, much the way others have stumbled upon your bouquets. I hadn’t even meant to open the app, but I saw the flowers and the headline. One of my best friends mother-in-law is dying today and it’s brought up a lot of feelings about my mother dying this spring. In fact, I dreamt of my mother last night. I said I wanted to spend more time with her and she said she really didn’t have the energy to do anything at all, and I said that was okay, I just wanted to be with her. And then, either in the dream or just waking up, I realized that she was dead, that this was why she had so little energy to “do” anything. So stumbling upon your flowers post has allowed me to cry, to feel deeply into your idea that sometimes fishing a place for the grief is the best we can do. Thank you.

Elizabeth, I'm so glad that you stumbled upon this post right when you needed it most and that it allowed you to cry and to deeply feel the loss of your mother, and of course your best friend's mother as well. It is often all we can do; but knowing that others out there are a part of our common suffering as motherless daughters often brings me a measure of peace. Thank you for reading, thank you for sharing your story 🤍

Thank you Ladelle. I love hearing that she taught you so much and how flowers and vintage also remind you of her. I know she cherished your kindred spirit and friendship. I am the same way with flowers and all things vintage and I find I have so much reverence for those items in my daily life now. Thank you for reading 🥀
